(+Fotos) Crear comunitat i empoderar a les dones, d’això es tracta

El passat 19 de maig, el Museu Carmen Thyssen va acollir ‘A Celebration of Women’, un esdeveniment organitzat per Ultimate Confidence i Expat Ladies Andorra, que va néixer amb la voluntat d’inspirar i empoderar a les dones del país, tant en l’àmbit personal, professional, com també en el sector financer.

Emma Ponsa Alred i Agata Galuszka van identificar la necessitat de crear una comunitat a Andorra, ja que segons les fundadores la majoria de les dones que viuen al país procedeixen d’una mescla de vides  que acaben unint-se al nostre país.

Emma Ponsa Alred –amfitriona de l’acte juntament amb Agata Galuszka– té un màster en Gestió d’Actius i una llicenciatura per la Universitat Pompeu Fabra, de Barcelona. El febrer de 2014 l’Emma va ser contractada per Morabanc, però des de fa un mes va decidir deixar la banca per muntar el seu propi negoci. Agata Galuszka té un Màster en Informàtica i un MBA per la Universitat de Greenwich, Londres. També és la fundadora d’Ultimate Confidence Ltd. A més a més, és directora de recursos humans, especialitzada en planificació de personal i estratègia de persones, conferenciant, coach d’èxit i creadora de molts programes en línia per a dones.

Durant la reunió, les participants van escoltar la història de dues dones expatriades, Marissa McDonald @andwearis dels Estats Units, i Agata Galuszka de Londres, Anglaterra. També a les empresàries locals, Meritxell Marsà Pons i Claudia Cornella Durany. Segons Agata Galuszka va ser estupend poder comparar les experiències de les dones expatriades i de les que ho són ara. “Ens vam adonar que les històries són similars i que els reptes de la vida com a dona són pràcticament els mateixos a tot arreu. L’energia va ser fantàstica i crec que la nostra comunitat va trobar el que buscava”, va assegurar Galuszka.

Com l’acte es va celebrar al Museu Carmen Thyssen, les dones van poder gaudir d’una visita a l’exposició “Made In Paris” i també van poder compartir un aperitiu.

Perquè no importa d’on siguis o què intentis fer en la vida, perquè per a fer el que vulguis  sempre necessitaràs confiança i comunitat. Tenir una bona comunitat et permetrà conèixer, socialitzar i crear una xarxa de contactes, construint grans amistats en el camí. Per això, quan participes en un esdeveniment d’aquest tipus, el nivell d’energia augmenta igual que la teva motivació per a participar. Pots parlar amb altres persones que estan passant per les mateixes situacions de la vida que tu. No importa si estàs lluitant per la teva salut, per qüestions personals, per començar a treballar o per deixar el treball, sigui el que sigui, aquesta comunitat i aquesta xarxa t’ajudarà i t’aixecarà. Es tracta de compartir la teva història i formar part de la comunitat. Tenir confiança en tu mateixa significa estar alineada amb nosaltres mateixes i sentir-se còmoda i orgullosa amb les opcions de vida que hem triat ara i en el futur.

L’esdeveniment se celebrarà cada tres mesos i el pròxim tindrà lloc el 29 de setembre en The Embassy en col·laboració amb Meritxell Marsà Pons, on s’espera reunir més dones. Creating community and empowering women, that’s it

On the 19th of May, we held an event at the Carmen Thyssen Museum, ‘A Celebration of Women’. Emma and Agata identified a need to create a community in Andorra. The idea came about as most women here, come from a mixture of lives all culminating in our presence in Andorra.

The hosts, Emma Ponsa Alred, holds an MA in Asset Management and BA with the University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. In February 2014 Emma was recruited by Morabanc. A month ago she decided to leave Morabanc and set up her own business. Agata Galuszka holds a Masters in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Greenwich, London. Founder of Ultimate Confidence Ltd Agata is an HR Director specialising in workforce planning and people strategy, speaker, success coach and the creator of many online programs for women.

It does not matter where you are from or what you are trying to do in life, there are two needs: confidence and community. Having a good community allows you to meet, socialise and network building great friendships along the way. When you are engaging at an event like this, it brings another layer as the energy levels rise and there are incentives to join in. You can speak with others who are going through the same situations in life as you are. It does not matter if you are struggling with health, personal issues, starting work or leaving work, whatever it is, that community and network will help you and lift you. It is about sharing your story and being part of the community. Being confident means you are aligned with yourself and comfortable and proud with your life choices now and for the future.

During the meeting, we heard from two expat women, Marissa McDonald @andwearis from the United States, and Agata Galuszka from London, England. We also heard from local business people Meritxell Marsa Pons and Claudia Cornella Durany. It was great to be able to compare the experiences of those who used to be expat and us being expats now. There was a realisation that the stories are similar and the challenges of life as a woman are practically the same everywhere. The energy was fantastic, and I believe our community found what they were looking for.

The event was held at the Carmen Thyssen Museum where the ladies received a tour of the ‘Made In Paris’ exhibition. The food and drinks were amazing.

We are delighted to hear  these events will be running every three months, with the next one taking place on 29th September at The Embassy in collaboration with Meritxell Marsa Pons, where we are hoping to bring more women together.
